Cabins

At Fish Lake Beach, we’re located here in Volo, Illinois, in the heart of Lake County, about 45 minutes north of Chicago right off US Route 12. I-94 is close by, so the drive in is manageable from most of the Chicagoland area and southern Wisconsin.

Our cabins are a good fit for families, couples, and groups who want the full campground experience without all the setup. You get the lake, the beach, the pool, and everything else the resort has to offer without needing an RV or a pile of camping gear to do it. It’s a relaxed way to spend a few days, and a lot of our cabin guests end up coming back year after year.

The lake is really the heart of the property. Rent a kayak or canoe in the morning, spend the afternoon on the sand, and wind down in the evening at the Pavilion or around one of the community fire pits. There’s enough going on that you won’t run out of things to do, but it’s also the kind of place where kicking back and doing absolutely nothing feels perfectly fine too.

When you want to venture out, Volo Bog State Natural Area and Moraine Hills State Park are both close by for hiking and wildlife. The Fox Lake area has good dining and local shopping, and Chicago is close enough for a day trip if the mood strikes.
