In the spirit of safety, health and comfort of all guests please read and abide by Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort rules and regulations.  Most are posted around the resort and on this website. If you camp with us, acceptance of the overnight rules is part of the registration process. If you have any questions call 847 546 2228, or when you are visiting – just ask.  We want everyone to have a great getaway.

  • Yes, We’re Pet Friendly!  Fish Lake Beach welcomes your entire family, including your pets.  We even have a ‘doggie comfort station’ to give your pet a familiar place to use during their getaway.
    • Pet Policies:
      • Do not leave your pet outside, unattended at your campsite.
      • Dogs MUST be contained or controlled on a leash at all times.
      • Leashes must not exceed 6 feet in length.
      • You MUST clean up after your dog.  Potty bags and containers are throughout the resort.
      • Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
      • Loud or constant barking will not be tolerated.
      • All pets are required to have current shots.
      • NOTE: Pets are not permitted as part of Fish Lake Beach Rental Accommodations. This applies to guests and visitors. 
  • When is Check In/Check Out?   Check-In is 4pm. Check-Out is 3pm.  If an early check in is desired,  call the office on your day of arrival at 847-546-2228 to find out if your site was occupied the previous night and has been vacated . If it has been rented and vacated we permit early check-in anytime after 12 NOON.  If an early Check-In is not possible, you may come and use the pool and beach until your site is available.
  • Yes, We have WiFi! A hot spot is included in your Overnight camping fee.  Seasonal Campers may pay for high speed internet, television services on a monthly or quarterly basis through Comcast.
  • Swimming Water recreation is a big part of the Fish Lake Beach experience. For health and safety reasons these safety rules apply to all guests.
      • Swim in the designated area during posted hours only.
      • Individuals under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult at the beach and pool.
      • Don’t dive into the pool or lake.
      • Look for, read and obey all safety rules posted at the beach and pool.
  • Are fishing licenses required?  Do you sell licenses?   Licenses are required by the IDNR and available at Fish Lake Beach. A fishing license is not required for individuals 15 years old and under.  To purchase a fishing license at Fish Lake Beach go to the Registration with your ID or drivers license.
    • License fees:
      • Illinois Residents 24-hour ($5.50), Annual ($15.00), Senior 65 years + ($7.75)
      • Non-Residents:  24-hour ($5.50), 10 day ($20.00), and Annual ($31.50)
  • Do you rent?  YES! We have Rental Accommodations at Fish Lake Beach.
  • Is alcohol permitted in the resort?  Do you sell liquor?  The legal drinking age in Illinois is 21.  Alcohol is permitted with moderation at Fish Lake Beach.  We do not sell alcohol.
  • I’m under 21.  Can I camp with friends?   No one under the age of 21 can camp without their parent/custodian supervision present at all times.
  • Can we go fishing at night?  Shore fishing is permitted 6am through 11pm Monday through Friday.  You may fish from a row boat until just before 7pm.
  • Can we bring a boat with an electric motor?   Bring your own boat or we’ll rent you a row boat, paddle boat or kayak.  Boats rent from 7am-7pm on weekends, and 8am-7pm on weekdays.  You must have a life jacket for each person in the boat and can be rented from our Registration. Boats must be on shore by 7pm.
  • How many tents can I put on a campsite?   One large tent per site, or two small tents.
  • How many people can camp on a campsite?  One family per campsite. Our rates are based upon 2 adults and 2 children.  Children are considered age 17 and under.  6 people maximum per site. 4 adults maximum per site.  See Camping rates under the Overnight Camping section for more details.
  • Do you have Group Camping sites?  Our campsites are arranged in rows to maximize space and allow some measure of privacy for our overnight guests  Depending on the size of your camper, you may be able to get sites directly across from each other.  There is no circular group camping. See the campground map for more details.
  • When arequiet hours”?   For the rest and relaxation of all camping guests, Fish Lake Beach enforces ‘quiet hours‘ as follows:
    • Weekdays  10pm-8am Sunday through Thursday
    • Weekends 11pm-8am Friday and Saturday
  • Where can I get propane?  Propane is available for purchase at the Fish Lake Beach Trailer Sales and Service from 9am-4pm daily.
  • Where is the nearest grocery store?  3 miles north on Route 12
  • Recycling is encouraged. Bins are located by the pool bathrooms-you don’t need to sort.
  • Can we have camp fires?  Yes, within the campfire pit on your site.  Firewood must be kept to a maximum height of 2 feet.
